We were exploring computational techniques to build ‘translation machines’ while I was teaching at The Ohio State Univ in Spring09. These were some of the examples I gave my students – these machines interpret a given context to construct three dimensional spatial concepts. In the first half of the course students explored ways to translate three given formal structures – a written piece, a musical piece, and a video.  The second half of the term focussed on individual projects. As programming environments ‘Processing’ and ‘FormZ’ were used.
